A Letter from Our Board of Directors President, Pastor Greg Loewer

Dear Friend,

On behalf of the Culmore Clinic Board of Directors and Staff, I want to wish you the very best as 2022 draws to a close.

This interfaith free clinic serving uninsured adults has much reason to rejoice. We returned to onsite operations and defied the odds in the very challenging healthcare sector by assembling a team of skillful individuals who wish to use their talents to serve. Most notable is the recruitment of a bilingual Nurse Practitioner, Maria Obeid, DNP, AGNP-BC, RN, CCRC, as our Clinical Director to guide our compassionate, culturally aware services that speak to “cura personalis” or “care of the whole person.”

As of November 1, our team provided 1,726 patient care visits for 304 vulnerable adults. We decreased our waitlist, and enrolled 217 new patients. We did this with just 7 employee positions (only 4 are full time) leveraged by 56 volunteers and 26 different service partners at an estimated value of $1.4 million.

Our volunteer-driven model means that budgeted expenses are matched by more than 2 to 1 by donated time and services. This helps us leverage our response to the overwhelming need in the Bailey’s Crossroads community where 57% of our neighbors are uninsured and 74% live in substandard housing.

We hope you will consider a gift to Culmore Clinic to allow us to continue to serve the most vulnerable among us in 2023 and beyond.

Wishing you and your family a healthy and blessed 2023!

Greg Loewer
