A Prayer Answered
Prayers are answered all of the time at Culmore Clinic. Whether it’s for assistance with staffing, funding, partnership support, or medical needs for a patient. We thought we’d share one of these such stories with you below:
The other week, just as our managing staffer was saying a prayer for find medical interpreters to fill holes in our schedule, this message from a past intern Manuel Panzardi (pictured here) popped up on her phone!
"Just wanted to give you a quick update on my medical school situation. I will be attending the UChicago Pritzker School of Medicine next year! My time with Culmore was a massive reference point for my interviews and application materials. I learned a lot about myself and my goals in medicine from the patients I helped care for. I am so grateful for the wonderful staff who taught me the importance of community-based medicine in connecting with folks who might not feel the most comfortable with American healthcare networks. So now that I have a little time to breathe before school starts in August I wanted to thank you for not only writing a letter of recommendation on my behalf but also for giving me an opportunity to grow as a future physician. If you or anybody else at the Clinic ever needs anything from me, feel free to text or call me at this number. Again, thank you so much! Have a great day!"
Manuel will start volunteering with the Clinic this week as an interpreter until he leaves for medical school in late July.
