Culmore Clinic Welcomes New Board Members!

With this new year still upon us, we are excited to announce four new board members here at Culmore Clinic. It is with great pleasure that we introduce you to Rosalia Fajardo, Nigel Walker, Larry Scinto and Dan McCarthy! Learn more about each of them below!

Rosalia Fajardo comes to us as the Executive Director/CEO of the Multicultural Family Education Center. Rosalia is one of the founding members of the Fairfax County Multicultural Advisory Committee. She is invested in the work of the Clinic because she believes health and well-being are fundamental rights, and that every diverse community has the right to a quality life.



 

Nigel Walker brings nearly 17 years of healthcare management experience, including roles in outpatient orthopedic clinics, medical records management, and concierge primary care membership marketing. In addition he has experience with billing, management, and contracted occupational health services. Over the last six months, Nigel has deepened his focus in community health, specifically working with community partners to address the social determinants of health, such as access to healthcare, housing stability, and nutrition. Nigel comes to the role with an understanding of the critical role of safe, stable housing in overall health outcomes and looks forward to learning more in this area to support the organization’s growth.

 

Larry Scinto has provided consulting and advisory support to DC-based non-profit organizations helping them grow strategically and financially. He has led and supported annual Accenture Day of Service projects for the last 5 years and supported Deloitte Giving projects, tutoring and coaching elementary and middle school students in Virginia. He is a 

He is a Dartmouth Alumni Volunteer and career advisor to current and prospective MBA and college students attending or planning to attend Dartmouth.

 

Dan McCarthy started his career as a high school math teacher at an economically disadvantaged high school in the DC area, and today he is the president of national healthcare company, Evolent. Evolent works with payers/providers in all 50 states to improve quality and cost for medically complex patients. Dan’s tenure has seen Evolent grow from a startup into a public company with five thousand employees and $2.5B in revenues. 

Since leaving as a full-time teacher, Dan has spent his time volunteering in multiple venues with school age children, including as an Arlington Youth Sports volunteer, coaching for the last 5 years in basketball and baseball. Additionally, he has volunteered for Arlington Public Schools, supporting various activities as well as Evolent-sponsored volunteering through the communities served by the organization.

 

We are so excited and so lucky to have such amazing talent and service-minded individuals joining our board! Truly, great things are in store for Culmore Clinic!
