Volunteer of the Week: Elaine Johnsen, RN
Congratulations and a big thank you are in order to our Volunteer of the Week, Elaine Johnse, RN. Elaine serves as one of our indispensable Volunteer Nurses here at The Clinic. As a Nurse she has wore many hats including assisting with patient care during the pandemic, offering telemedicine twice a week for the last year, and now helping with case management.
According to Elaine, she volunteers with Culmore Clinic because…
There isn’t anything I don’t love about Culmore Clinic. Speaking with our vulnerable population over the past year has given me more compassion for those in need. I’m amazed at how hardworking and committed all of Culmore Clinic employees and volunteers are! I’m honored to be a part of this incredible team of healthcare professionals. I’m still working part-time for the Peace Corps and enjoy my work at Culmore even more than my regular job.
For fun Elaine enjoys to travel and meet new people. She raised her family on four different continents. In 2019 two of her four children got married and in 2020 she had her second granddaughter. About her grandchildren she says, “My grandchildren are my life. I’m smitten and enjoy each moment I can spend with them!”
When asked about Elaine, Anne-Lise Quinn, our Executive Director said:
"Elaine brings an incredible smile and a can-do/will-do spirit to her volunteer work with us. She is always quick to show appreciation for her colleagues and to recognize the blessing she receives from serving our precious patients and seeing them get better."
We can’t thank you enough, Elaine! Your spirit fills The Clinic with positivity and is inspiring. We are thrilled to honor you this week as Culmore Clinic’s Volunteer of the Week! Congratulations!
