Volunteer of the Week: Emily Parker, RN
Congratulations and a big thank you are in order to our Volunteer of the Week, Emily Parker, RN. Emily serves as one of our Volunteer Family Nurse Practitioners here at The Clinic. In this role she provides on-site primary care visits for our patients. Her current focus is on new patients and patients with complex needs that are not easily handled via telemedicine.
According to Elaine, she volunteers with Culmore Clinic because…
I am privileged to volunteer with compassionate, competent, and friendly people who also feel called to help the most vulnerable in our community. Many of our patients have challenging health conditions and complex needs, and the ability to help them feel their best and positively impact their health is so rewarding. I have also benefited personally and professionally from the opportunity to learn from the other providers who have been doing this work much longer than I have!
Emily lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband and their two young boys. When not at Culmore Clinic she enjoys long walks, reading, personal finance, and coffee with friends.
When asked about Emily, Barbara Weingold our Clinic Director said:
Emily is an empathetic and compassionate caregiver. She is a great communicator, always listening and building relationships with patients and all members of the health care team. She is professional and a true team player. She has been an amazing addition to the Culmore Clinic team.
We can’t thank you enough, Emily! Without your hard work and dedication to our patients, we truly couldn’t provide the type of quality care that we do. We are thrilled to honor you this week as Culmore Clinic’s Volunteer of the Week! Congratulations!
